Ben Gray taught middle school vocal music in Gurnee and Lake Forest, Illinois for eighteen years. During his time in Lake Forest, the 8th grade choir at Deer Path Middle School performed in DisneyWorld each year. His choirs consistently received a “I” or “I+” rating at the Ilinois Grade School Music Association contests.
From 2008-2012, Benjamin was the director of Midwest Young Artist’s “Voices Rising,” an audition based children’s choir based in Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Voices Rising was the featured children’s choir at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s “Welcome Yule!” concerts each December. This choir also performed at the United Nations, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
From 2013-2019, Ben was also the director of the Northbrook Community Choir. This adult chorus performed with local orchestras and throughout the Northbrook community. This volunteer organization has been a Northbrook tradition for over 25 years.
Ben received his undergraduate degree from the Northwestern University School of Music with a degree in both choral and instrumental music education. He also holds a Masters of Music Education degree from the University of Michigan, and a Masters of Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
Ben has experience with boat domestic and international travel and is looking forward to sharing his passion for group travel with others!
Ben resides in Highland Park, Illinois with his wife Suzie, son Zachary, and dog Barney.
