Covid Mitigation Strategies and Information
Guardian Travel Group is committed to providing safe and memorable travel experiences as well as peace of mind for travelers, families, trip sponsors, and administrators. In order to ensure safety for all involved, Guardian has implemented the following strategies and policies:
Only selecting vendors that are following CDC and local health department guidelines
All tour directors and trip leaders will receive training prior to departure regarding COVID-19 mitigation strategies of each vendor as well as for Guardian’s plan in the event of illness on the trip.
Tour directors will perform a wellness check prior to the start of the trip.
Tour directors will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Tour directors will work to keep the group distanced from others not in the group as much as humanly possible.
Guardian has an on-call staff member available 24/7 to address any issues or concerns that may arise.
Post-Departure Insurance is standard in our trip packages. This is subject to group leader discretion.
Should a participant become ill on their trip, Guardian’s Post Departure Insurance policy includes online medical appointments with a state-licensed physician (for domestic destinations only) for the participant to receive a diagnosis and any prescriptions needed. Should a quarantine need to be instituted, Guardian will ensure that the participant has separate accommodations for up to five days past the conclusion of a trip to ensure enough time for an emergency contact to arrive and take over care of the participant, if needed. In most instances, flight change fees will be covered under Guardian’s Post Departure Insurance policy, should the group be utilizing air travel. Restrictions may apply. Trip Interruption Assistance includes:
Guardian trips are subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. With guidelines constantly changing, we will communicate this information as we have it. Each participant is responsible for communicating relevant information such as dietary restrictions, mobility restrictions and accommodations needed, health records, and any other pertinent information to their school, the group leader, and Guardian. Governmental and vendor policies are subject to change and may impact individual ability to participate in the trip or various aspects of the trip. Any accommodations for the group as a whole or large portions of the group will be assisted by Guardian. Individual complications with changes in policies will need to result in a decision of continued participation in the trip.
All decisions regarding changes in the itinerary or trip policies will be discussed with the group leader with assistance from any administration, if needed. Any issues with on-trip behavior will be a collaborative discussion with the group leader and administration. Consequences for failure to follow Guardian and organization rules, guidelines, terms, and conditions will be handled on a case-by-case basis and will be resolved with the solution best for the group, individual, and organizations involved.
Please contact your Guardian consultant for additional questions or should you have any participants who require accommodations beyond those listed above.
